DUTA LOTRE 101: A BEGINNER S GUIDE TO SELLING LOTTERY TICKETS LIKE A PRO
You just got your duta lotre certify. The forestall is set up, the tickets are well-stacked, and the first client walks in. Now what? Selling lottery tickets isn t just about handing over slips it s about turn a small booth into a calm income well out. This steer breaks down the numbers pool, strategies, and habits that part the pros from the amateurs.
WHY THE NUMBERS MATTER MORE THAN LUCK
Lottery sales follow patterns. In Indonesia, 68 of all drawing tickets are sold between 4 PM and 8 PM on weekdays. That s a four-hour window where your daily taxation can jump 2.5x if you re prepared. Track your own gross revenue for a week. If your peak hours don t match this, set your docket open earlier, close later, or hire part-time help during those hours.
The average duta lotre sells 120 tickets per day. If you re below that, you re leaving money on the table. Each ticket carries a 10-15 commission. At 120 tickets, that s 12-18 IDR in pure turn a profit , or 360-540 IDR every month. Scale that to 200 tickets a day, and your each month take jumps to 600-900 IDR. The difference isn t luck it s strategy.
SET UP YOUR BOOTH FOR MAXIMUM IMPULSE BUYS
Location is everything, but not in the way you think. A kiosk near a minimarket sees 40 more foot dealings than one near a mosque. Why? People stop for groceries, see the lottery sign, and add a ticket to their basket. If you re near a mosque, transfer your hours to match prayer times open 30 proceedings before and after each supplication. Foot dealings spikes then, and you can the push.
Your stall should have three things: visibleness, speed up, and swear. Use a bright, uncluttered sign with the word LOTRE in bold letters. If your sign is littler than A3 size, you re covert. Speed matters customers resolve to buy in under 10 seconds. Keep a pen, a estimator, and a pile up of pre-filled forms gear up. Trust comes from consistency. Open at the same time every day, even if gross sales are slow. Customers think of dependability.
PRICING STRATEGIES THAT ACTUALLY WORK
Most beginners sell tickets at face value and hope for the best. Pros use tiered pricing. Offer a 5 discount for bulk buys 5 tickets for the damage of 4. This increases your average out sale by 25. If your usual customer buys 2 tickets, they ll now buy 5. That s a 150 step-up in tax revenue per client.
Another tactic: bundle tickets with small rewards. Sell a 10-ticket pack with a free strike card. The excise card you 500 IDR, but the 10-ticket pack brings in 10,000 IDR in sales. Your net turn a profit per pack jumps from 1,000 IDR to 9,500 IDR. Small rewards create big returns.
THE ART OF UPSELLING WITHOUT BEING PUSHY
Up to 30 of your customers will buy more if you suggest it. The key is timing. When a client buys a single fine, say: For just 5,000 IDR more, you can get a second to win. This works because it s framed as an opportunity, not a sale. If they hesitate, add: Most winners buy at least two tickets. Social proof sells.
For regulars, pass over their familiar buy in. If they always buy 2 tickets, next time say: I saved you a quick-pick set 3 tickets for 15,000 IDR. Want me to hold them? This makes them feel valuable and increases their spend by 50.
HOW TO HANDLE THE MOST COMMON CUSTOMER OBJECTIONS
Lottery is a run off of money. This is your cue to reframe the conversation. Say: It s not about the money it s about the dream. For 5,000 IDR, you get a week of exhilaration. That s cheaper than a motion picture ticket. This shifts the focalize from cost to experience.
I never win anything. Respond with data: Last month, three people won 50 billion IDR each in this area. One of them bought their ticket right here. Keep a log of topical anaestheti winners and reference it. If you don t have topical anesthetic data, use national stats: Every week, 1 in 50,000 tickets wins a value. You could be next.
I ll come back later. This is the most perilous dissent. Counter it with urging: The draw is this night at 9 PM. If you buy now, you won t miss it. If they still hesitate, volunteer a compromise: Take this promptly-pick slip. If you don t use it, just throw it away. Most people won t throw it away they ll either use it or feel guilty and come back.
TRACKING YOUR SALES LIKE A BUSINESS, NOT A HOBBY
Pros treat their duta lotre like a business. That means trailing every sale. Use a simple notebook computer or a free app like Google Sheets. Record the time, ticket type, and total for each sale. After a week, you ll see patterns. Maybe Tuesdays are slow, or quickly-pick tickets outsell manual of arms picks 3:1.
Use this data to adjust. If quick-picks are pop, sprout more of them. If Tuesdays are slow, run a publicity: Buy 2 tickets, get a free strike card. Small tweaks supported on data can step-up your every week tax revenue by 20-30.
THE HIDDEN COSTS NO ONE TELLS YOU ABOUT
Your biggest expense isn t the tickets it s the unsold inventory. In Indonesia, 12 of drawing tickets expire unsold. That s money down the run out. To keep off this, say in smaller batches. If you usually sell 100 tickets a week, order 90. It s better to sell out and reorder than to sit on invalid sprout.
Another secret cost: theft. 5 of lottery Sellers describe lost tickets or cash. Install a modest tv camera above your anticipate. It doesn t need to be high-tech a sixpenny 500,000 IDR camera workings. The mere front of a television camera reduces thievery by 70.
HOW TO TURN ONE-TIME BUYERS INTO REGULAR CUSTOMERS
The average duta lotre has 20 regular customers who report for 60 of sales. To build this base, start a loyalty program. Give a free fine after every 10 purchases. It you 5,000 IDR, but it locks in take over byplay. Regulars pass 40 more than one-time buyers.
Another duta lotre.
